How can we navigate on road without using our cell phones constantly?
LECHAL (pronounced lay-ch-al, meaning “take me there” in Hindi) is a product by Ducere Technologies. It is an interactive footwear with haptic feedback to support navigation. Lechal started as a project with a social aspect, which was to create an aid for the visually impaired and each pair sold will result in a subsidized pair for blind people. LeChal pairs a smart phone app with small actuators sewn inside the soles of a shoe via Blue-tooth. Le Chal uses a vibrating signals to assist navigation for the visually impaired.
